ReplyDeleteThese photos of the horse and carriage take me back to stories my mother would tell us about her life as a young girl growing up in Canada. She said for New Year's Eve families in the area would all get dressed up and then ride in the horse and carriages to the home the furthest away, she said they were dressed in fur coats and covered in fur blankets, the women would bring food and then when they arrived at the last house they would have a big New Year's Eve party with music, dancing and lots of food and home made wine! The young children would all curl up on a bed and she said the party would last until early morning hours.
